Beaches are among the most popular vacation destinations in the world. With that being said, it is easy to understand why they seem to always be so crowded. Now, I love people just as much as the next person, but sometimes, you just need a little more quiet. Am I right?


Here is a list of 5 beautiful beaches in the south, that are generally way more uncrowded than the rest!

1. Tybee Island, Georgia


Tybee Island is a barrier island located less than 20 miles away from Savannah, Georgia. There are many things to do, and sites to see, from Tybee Pier & Pavilion, to the Historic Tybee Lighthouse. These is definitely a family-friendly beach that will have you coming back!

2. Gulf Shores, Alabama


This beautiful, white-sand beach is located in Alabama, on the Gulf Coast. There are many activities do partake in while vacationing in Gulf Shores, including parasailing, kayaking, and shopping.

3. Treasure Island, Florida


What can I say? Treasure Island holds a special place in my heart. Being from Florida, this is the beach my family always took me to growing up, and I still continue to go there today. With white sandy beaches, plenty of shopping, and places to fish, Treasure Island is a mostly-hidden gym in America. If you love shopping, you can head over to John's Pass. Just be sure to bring me a souvenir!

4. Seabrook Island, South Carolina


Seabrook Island is an oceanfront community about 25 miles south of Charleston. As with most beaches on the list, Seabrook Island is lines with miles of white sand beaches. If you find yourself wanting to make an excursion to town, be sure to check out Freshfields Village, as it provides a rather romantic shopping experience, and offers many dining options.

5. Sandbridge Beach, Virginia


There is definitely no shortage of found to be had at Sandbridge Beach. Located in Virginia Beach, this beach is ideal for those who love playing in the water. There are several water activities to try, including surfing, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. For wholesome family fun, you can head over to Little Island Park, and take advantage of their picnic shelters, basketball and tennis courts, and playgrounds!
